How to disable:

in firefox, about:config

change permissions.default.shortcuts to 3.

I tried to use 2, "always deny", but that changed how the backspae/delete key behaved.

Alternatively, the websites authority to take over keyboard shortcuts can be changed on a per site basis. Click the (i) next the ssl lock in the url. Click "Connection -> more info -? Permissions". Update "Override keyboard Shortcuts" to your preference.
