Ernest (Ernie) Glenn "I let them vote how they wish" Bootsma

From Buchalter's profile:

Ernest (Ernie) G. Bootsma is a Shareholder in Buchalter’s Portland office and a member of the Firm’s Corporate and Intellectual Property practice groups. Mr. Bootsma represents start-up and growth stage businesses, as well as more mature companies... Mr. Bootsma has been selected as an Oregon Super Lawyer and received a listing in Best Lawyers several times, and has a Martindale-Hubbell peer rating of AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5.

As "PDX Conservative" (@conserve_p) on Twitter (this tweet went viral, with at least 4.5 million views and thousands of retweets):

My three daughters all voted for Harris in Oregon, a state that gave all its Electoral College votes to Harris. Two of them have now stopped speaking to me (and one is boycotting Thanksgiving) because I voted Trump. I did not tell them how to vote, nor ever presume to argue or convince them that they are mislead by propaganda. I let them vote how they wish. It sucks that I must now suffer their childish and frankly, rude behavior, merely because they believe my one vote harmed them or their rights in some way.

This is a small selection of links between Ernest Bootsma and "PDX Conservative". Many other clear connections related to his parents and siblings are omitted. This post is archived but is not linked here.

Legal practice

  • Photo of the Jackson Tower showing the Moda Tower and bridges in the background, taken from a location apparently consistent with the Buchalter address listed in Bootsma's myWSBA profile, posted by PDX Conservative on 14 April 2023: "This is how absent Chinese owners of an historical building in Portland, Oregon treat the American Flag"
  • PDX Conservative on 21 December 2023: "The kind where I don't go to court -- business."
  • PDX Conservative on 5 July 2022: "I work in downtown Portland and will not be going back to masks. They have been silly symbols from the beginning."

Law school

  • PDX Conservative on 21 December 2024: "JD, nice to meet you on here. I went to law school in Salem."
  • PDX Conservative on 21 August 2023: "I went to law school in the late 80s and I have the same feeling about Tribe. He is a buffoon."
  • From Bootsma's Buchalter profile: "Mr. Bootsma earned his J.D., cum laude, from Willamette University College of Law in 1990, and earned his B.S., High Honors, in Art & Graphic Design from Oregon State University in 1986."

Lakewood Village, Baker City

  • PDX Conservative on 21 November 2024: "I grew up in Lakewood Village in So. California."
  • PDX Conservative on 29 October 2024: "My folks moved here from California in the 70s, but we moved to Baker City and assimilated. • PDX Conservative on 6 June 2024: "I was not born here, but have lived here since 1977."
  • From Edith Bootsma's obituary: "In 1963 she met and married Tom Bootsma and started their family of seven children. Ernie and Tom Jr. were born at Gardena, Calif. They moved to Lakewood Village, Calif., in 1970 and had Edward, Tena, Erik, Trisha and Ted. In 1977 they moved to Baker City and lived in the same well-known house, the Granite Burr Castle, at 2604 11th St."
