This is a quick guide to mounting a qcow2 disk images on your host server. This is useful to reset passwords, edit files, or recover something without the virtual machine running.
Step 1 - Enable NBD on the Host
modprobe nbd max_part=8

In this gist I would like to describe an idea for GraphQL subscriptions. It was inspired by conversations about subscriptions in the GraphQL slack channel and different GH issues, like #89 and #411.
At the moment GraphQL allows 2 types of queries:
query
mutation
Reference implementation also adds the third type: subscription
. It does not have any semantics yet, so here I would like to propose one possible semantics interpretation and the reasoning behind it.
No, seriously, don't. You're probably reading this because you've asked what VPN service to use, and this is the answer.
Note: The content in this post does not apply to using VPN for their intended purpose; that is, as a virtual private (internal) network. It only applies to using it as a glorified proxy, which is what every third-party "VPN provider" does.

knowledge dump on container runtimes
KataContainers | |
- image coupled with kernel
- light vm layer | |
- can run in nested virturalization environments if hardware supports and you can enable it in bios (ex. only bare metal EC2 instances, limits many cloud providers)
- slower startup time | |
- OCI compliant | |
- previously known as ClearContainers by Intel |
