Quartz vs certus

Nether quartz vs certus. Only mentioning for now.

I'd second that the border on the chiseled and pillar variations should probably be less pronounced to make them look better when stacked. The block version matches the Quartz Block. What's being compared in the image is Vanilla's "Smooth Quartz Block", while our block matches Vanilla's "Block of Quartz". - Gimpansor

I was actually inquiring about the pillar and chiseld block as the minecraft variants do not have a hard border between them. Having a transition between each block isn't actually bad. Myabe it should just be a smoother or more detailed. Also another idea would be to allow pillars to face any direction and not just align them with an axis. So players could make different pattern depending on the rotation. But that might better fit into a different block. Something like a capstone(?) for a pillar. Like a transition block between a pillar and a chiseled block.

The normal block was just there. Probably picked the wrong one. But adding a smooth certus later would be nice and probably just requires a layer removed from the certus quartz block.

Quartz bricks

Certus quartz bricks?

Would be nice ofcourse, but it's extra ;-) As an addendum to the remarks above. Extra blocks would be: "Smooth Certus Quartz Block" to match Vanilla's "Smooth Quartz Block", and "Certus Quartz Bricks" to match Vanilla's "Quartz Bricks". - Gimpansor

Just as potential addition later.

storage channel colours

Might imo a bit too saturated. Maybe going for a certus + light green approach (cactus block)? Similar to planes or cels, but can certainly be a bit more saturated

I have no remarks here. We haven't figured out how to do indicator lights for interfaces yet however. Any ideas which area of the interface could serve as an indicator light? (Similar to the tiny indicators on parts). I'd also like your opinion on whether we should make the large blue surface area glow in the dark. - Gimpansor

I think there was the idea to change the color to a less saturated one when missing power/channels etc. Also the dark grey edges might be an idea to use as indicator. Including the color once we add the option to color machines and not just cables.

buses frame/border1 buses frame/border2

Import buses have a 1px border on their front. Storage bus and export bus does not. Looks a bit harsh from an angle in my opinion. Export bus could certainly also see an updated model with only 2 layers like the import/storage bus and not 3 increases the size of the front face by 1 px in each direction.

No particular thoughts on this other than it'd be cool to animate the blue surface area, but that's a bit much :-) - Gimpansor

Didn't consider animations. But then these are usually facing some inventory and aren't even visible. Probably a waste of time. And the normal item will be way to small to notice it.

inscriber inside

Intentional or a flat texture missing (or am I overlooking it?)

I think the fluix part is supposed to be so substantial that it reaches all the way from the outer surface area into the inside, and I kinda like it, so no remarks from me. - Gimpansor

Mostly just asking if the outside texture should also be used on the inside. Or if there is maybe a file missing. As the model itself still used the 5 or 6 previous textures for each side.

drive inside

Appears to be rotated by 90 degrees?

why? - Gimpansor

The inside. the bar has a darker gray at the bottom, while the the slots have the dark parts on the right

inscriber vs. charger - Gimpansor

I really like the charger's futuristic, metallic look. So what would your thought be on making the inscriber's metallic surface more like the charger? At the same time, I really like the Fluix ring on the inscriber, so what are your thoughts on having the little "fluix charge knob" on the charger be maybe slightly larger (ring with 6px diameter), and be throgh-and-through like on the inscriber? - Gimpansor

Not sure about making the inscriber a lighter color. It can quickly look like a white plastic box and probably a bit dull.

I think the fluix parts on the charger should indicate connection points for cables. Could also be an idea to at them to the inscriber. But that will be really cluttered.

For reference how cables do connect to an inscriber now. inscriber cables

1- Crystal Blocks
image
I added a Smooth Certus Quartz texture, and used it as a back layer to both the chiseled and pillar to match the vanilla ones. I've also created the Certus Quartz Brick, and the Capstones (left, and right).
Once the Capstone blocks are created in AE2, they will need to use Chiseled on the side, and Pillar on the top face, while maintaining the unique Capstone texture on 2 faces.

2- Updated the saturation on the Interfaces to bring them back to Certus Quartz colours. I've also updated the textures for the ON state to be more subtle so it can be noticed more when you guys utilize the empty boxed on the borders for channels/state ..etc.

3- Updated the Parts to use the new item/fluid faces, and fixed that 1 pixel issue. At least until the entire part is remodeled.

4- You are right, the dark spots on the internal face should be up. I updated the front face textures.

5- I mostly just worked on the textures. If needed, I could update the model's JSON to make the inside use a different texture.

6- Not sure I understood what you want changed here. Add the Fluix port on the outside of the Charger, or what example? I kept it similar to the original where the outside port is dark, but the Fluix is inside, I assumed it was to communicate a charging mechanism. More information here would be appreciated.
@Gimpansor, if you want, I can update the Inscriber to have the clean/polished look of the Charger, just to show it, and see how you 2 feel about it. Will work on it tomorrow.

As we discussed on Discord. Try these, and see how you feel about it in-game before you make a decision, and see if anything else is needed.

When you guys get the time, could you please compile a list of all the additional stuff required as well.
I know for a starter you were talking about a blank housing with no LED or anything. See if there is anything else before I package these and send them.
