Project ; Intention Timer

with Amy, Brigette, and Naomi

What are each of our learning goals for this project? What drives us in this project?

We want to come out of the end of this project with a funcitoning application completed within the timeframes we have set. We would like to have a complete understanding of the code written, and have that code be DRY with no bugs.

What is your collaboration style? How do you feel about pair programming vs. divide-and-conquer approaches?

When writing code, we will be driver/navigator alternating between group members daily. Should we come across something we do not know how to solve or make work, we will divide and conquor the research, coming back together to compare solutions and notes. This will ensure that no member of the group is left behind and also that we keep to our timeframes.

1. What role does empathy play in your life and how has it helped you?

I've always been a deeply emphathetic person. Almost to a fault, if I'm being honest. I can't imagine myself without my empathy, being able to relate to people, to understand things from their perspectives. It helps me navigate society and form solid bonds with people. It's helped me in more way than I can count. Helped me be a good server, a great customer service

What is the value of a checklist?

I don't think I would be able to get anything done without one, honestly. They do so much from start to finish. The making of a checklist helps you organize your thoughts, and might even bring to light a task or item that should be on the checklist even if you didn't consider it before. From grocery lists to daily tasks, I find them to be essential to my productivity. I also used them a lot when I was struggling with my depression. I found it intensely difficult and overwhelming to do simple chores and tasks, even feed myself. I saw somewhere that checklists can help break down the big, scary tasks into smaller, more manageable ones. The checking off of a completed task, no matter how small, helped me feel accomplished,
