I've been using a lot of Ansible lately and while almost everything has been great, finding a clean way to implement ansible-vault wasn't immediately apparent.

What I decided on was the following: put your secret information into a vars file, reference that vars file from your task, and encrypt the whole vars file using ansible-vault encrypt.

Let's use an example: You're writing an Ansible role and want to encrypt the spoiler for the movie Aliens.

To use this bot:

• Download ads_bot.py and requirements.txt.
• Type pip install -r requirements.txt to install the requirements.
• Fill out the required information in the Python file.
• Ideally, create a (free) Slack account and set up a web hook to receive notifications from the bot.
• Run the script :)
• Relax and be ready to answer incoming calls :D

So in following @berkes 'Add sorting to your product page in Spree' guide, I tried to repeat with my taxons controller. However there was no difference in order, despite the scopes being applied.

Another commenter Adam shared my frustration: 'How would I make this work for taxons as well? Everything I try doesn't work'.

After a little bit of research, I figured it out.

Using Python 3 + Google Cloud Vision API's OCR to extract text from photos and scanned documents

Just a quickie test in Python 3 (using Requests) to see if Google Cloud Vision can be used to effectively OCR a scanned data table and preserve its structure, in the way that products such as ABBYY FineReader can OCR an image and provide Excel-ready output.

The short answer: No. While Cloud Vision provides bounding polygon coordinates in its output, it doesn't provide it at the word or region level, which would be needed to then calculate the data delimiters.

On the other hand, the OCR quality is pretty good, if you just need to identify text anywhere in an image, without regards to its physical coordinates. I've included two examples:

Testing React components seems simple at first. Then you need to test something that isn't a pure interaction and things seem to break down. These 4 patterns should help you write readable, flexible tests for the type of component you are testing.

Setup

I recommend doing all setup in the most functional way possible. If you can avoid it, don't set variables in a beforeEach. This will help ensure tests are isolated and make things a bit easier to reason about. I use a pattern that gives great defaults for each test example but allows every example to override props when needed:

Recently CSS has got a lot of negativity. But I would like to defend it and show, that with good naming convention CSS works pretty well.

My 3 developers team has just developed React.js application with 7668 lines of CSS (and just 2 !important). During one year of development we had 0 issues with CSS. No refactoring typos, no style leaks, no performance problems, possibly, it is the most stable part of our application.

Here are main principles we use to write CSS for modern (IE11+) browsers:

• SUIT CSS naming conventions + SUIT CSS design principles;
• PostCSS + CSSNext. Future CSS syntax like variables, nesting, and autoprefixer are good enough;
• Flexbox is awesome. No need for grid framework;
• Normalize.css, base styles and variables are solid foundation for all components;

Resize root partition (or how to remove the default /home partition) on CentOS 7 online

This process requires that you are able to ssh OR log in locally using the root user account and that no services be running as users out of /home on the target machine.

The examples are from a default installation with no customization-you NEED to know what you're working with for volumes/partitions to not horribly break things.

By default, CentOS 7 uses XFS for the file system and Logical Volume Manager (LVM), creating 3 partitions: /,/home and swap.

NOTE: If you want to be sure that nothing is writing to /home you can either modify the host to boot into single-user mode OR try to use the systemctl isolate runlevel1.target command to switch (not tested! should work).
