KDE KSysGuard NVIDIA GPU temperature/memory/utilization sensor, based on @frantic1048's script, but with units and total memory detection.
#!/usr/bin/perl -w
# act as a KSysGuard sensor
# provides NVIDIA GPU info via `nvidia-smi`
# Usage:
# 1. Save this script, make it executable and move it to a directory in your $PATH
# 2. Save this ksysguard sensor file for Nvidia: https://gist.github.com/Sporif/31f0d8d9efc3315752aa4031f7080d79
# 2. In KSysGuard's menu, open "File > Import Tab From File option"
# 3. Open the sensor file (nvidia.srgd)

GNOME Tracker Disable

Disabling GNOME Tracker and Other Info

GNOME's tracker is a CPU and privacy hog. There's a pretty good case as to why it's neither useful nor necessary here: http://lduros.net/posts/tracker-sucks-thanks-tracker/

After discovering it chowing 2 cores, I decided to go about disabling it.

Display git branch in bash prompt
# If you work with git, you've probably had that nagging sensation of not knowing what branch you are on. Worry no longer!
export PS1="\\w:\$(git branch 2>/dev/null | grep '^*' | colrm 1 2)\$ "
# This will change your prompt to display not only your working directory but also your current git branch, if you have one. Pretty nifty!
# ~/code/web:beta_directory$ git checkout master
# Switched to branch "master"
# ~/code/web:master$ git checkout beta_directory
# Switched to branch "beta_directory"
