  • ON a website, HTML code describes the structure of the page.
  1. What is the difference between an element and a tag?
  • The difference between an element and a tag is that an element is usually made up of two tags, an opeing tag and a closing tag.
  • Also an element comprises the opeing tag and closing tag and any content that lies between them.

  1. What role does empathy play in your life and how has it helped you?
  • I feel that empathy has been a huge factor in my life. It has helped me understand how to be a good friend. I have had issues with friends where we were arguing over an issue where both parties were "right."
  • However once I realized what really hurt my friend was that I was more concerned with being "right" than I was with their feelings. As a result I apologized, droping the issue and we are still great friends to this day.
  1. How does empathy help you build better software?
  • I would say empathy, in any sort of insdustry, is vital to success. Being able to understand what a people really wants helps developers build for specific needs that people desire.
  • This also helps introduce new concepts in familiar ways people. Understanding how people are used to using certain softwares allows new ones to be introduced with similar formats but with adjustments for user satifaction.

Read through 29 Behaviors That Will Make You An Unstoppable Programmer
Pick out three behaviors that resonate with you in the list and describe why they resonate with you in a reflection.

  1. The first behavior that stood out to me was 8: Say "I don't know"
    • I often feel that saying I don't know is worse than keeping quiet and hoping some one else will ask my question. However I really like the idea that everyone will have small issues that can cause huge road blocks, and the fastest solution is just admitting you dont know.
The second behavior that resonated with me was 29: Move fast and break things.

CSS Layout Challenge

###Challenge 1: Chalenge 1 In this challenge I made three divs in one section. I made one class for all three divs as well as individual ids for each. For the class i made all the divs the same width and height, same display of inline-block, same color and same absolute position. I put them in a section with a relative position. This was they all align at the top part of the section. I made the position from div 3 10px from the right. I made the position of div2 110px from the right. I made the margin-right on div2 10px to give it a small buffer of white space between div2 and div3. I left div1 alone as an aboslute position would keep it in the upper most left hand corner of the 'relative' section.

###Challenge 2:Challenge 2 In this challenge I have the same html set up as challenge 1. The differences in the css are simply adding the top attribut to div2 and div3. In div2 I added 100px

# Strengths & Storytelling Reflection Guidelines
* Look at your initial StrengthsFinder reflection that you completed in week 1 -- how have your perceptions of the top 5 themes stayed the same? How have they changed?
My perceptions of my top 5 strengths have not really changed.
1. Communication - People who are good communicators have an easy time talking to people. In my experience this does describe me as I am almost always able to find a topic that I enjoy speaking to others about.
2. Consistency - I think this means that people are able to expect, rely or predict my behavior. People can expect certain class of work, behavior, attitude and demeanor.
3. Harmony - I think Harmony and empathy have similar meanings. I do not look for conflict. If avoidable I will avoid it. However that doesn't stop me from having conflict in my life. Sometime conflict will lead to harmony. But by understanding what others are feeling, or thinking I am able to create an atmosphere where we all can collectively enjoy ou

Feedback III
* What are you doing well as a pair programmer and collaborator?
* "I am showing that I and partners see myself as trustworthy, responsible, friendly, available, communicative and adaptable amoung other things."
* How do you use your strengths as a team member?
* "I try and stay on top of communicating where I am in the process and hold myself responsible for the work ahead."
* How would you like to continue to develop your strengths?
I had a blast working with you Dan. I loved the constant communication we had and I really appreciated the fact that you respect my time. Whenever we worked, we worked hard. It was super satisfying. I also want to say that I really appreciate your patience with me especially when it came to the localStorage part in our code and how you were using a counter to define each individual idea. I know it took me a while to understand it, but it was really helpful that you continued to explain it to me and even let me explain it through a couple times to you to make sure I was understanding it correctly. You were an awesome partner.
If I have one bit of advice to offer, I would say maybe next time you work with a partner, if you get some advice from your brother, see if your partner can sit in on the conversation. That way they don't have to play catchup later. Rather, they can hear the same awesome feedback your brother gave you. Otherwise though, again, I really had a great time working with you and look forwar
