invalid %-encoding error in application for malformed uri

Question re: should this be rack's job

# config.ru
run ->(env) {
  [ 200, { 'Content-Type' => 'text/html', }, [Rack::Request.new(env).params.inspect] ]
}

Make it real

Ideas are cheap. Make a prototype, sketch a CLI session, draw a wireframe. Discuss around concrete examples, not hand-waving abstractions. Don't say you did something, provide a URL that proves it.

Ship it

Nothing is real until it's being used by a real user. This doesn't mean you make a prototype in the morning and blog about it in the evening. It means you find one person you believe your product will help and try to get them to use it.

Do it with style

How to use Heroku's SSL Endpoint with an SSL certificate purchased from GoDaddy

[UPDATED FOR #HEARTBLEED]

How to use Heroku's SSL Endpoint with an SSL certificate purchased from GoDaddy.

Heroku's docs on this are now the definitive source. I just followed their instructions to update my apps and they're much better than they were when I made this gist. Here's the previous revision if you need still need it. Good luck!

Dump Heroku Postgres DB and load locally
Get the Heroku db as detailed here:
http://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/pgbackups#exporting_via_a_backup
1. heroku pgbackups:capture
2. heroku pgbackups:url <backup_num> #=>backup_url
- get backup_num with cmd "heroku pgbackups"
3. curl -o latest.dump <backup_url>
Then locally do:
$ pg_restore --verbose --clean --no-acl --no-owner -h localhost -U myuser -d mydb latest.dump
