Marina Abramovic is starting an interdisciplinary performance and education center.
She needs $600,000 to complete this project, so she's raising the money with a Kickstarter.
In the midst of the Kickstarter campaign there is an interesting reward:
THE EXERCISES: MUTUAL GAZE WITH MARINA ABRAMOVIC. Marina will perform the Abramovic Method eye gazing exercise with you via webcam. You may document this experience in any way you’d like and opt to include it in MAI digital archives. In order to help Marina meet her goal, and to explore all the possibilities of this exercise, I would like to arrange a "Mutual Gaze" session around one or more of the following constructed situations:
- I will do blink detection and overlay a high scores on the video feed.
- I will route many people to Marina simultaneously: in a grid, or for a short period of time.
- I will route Marina directly to Chatroulette the entire time.
- I will do eye tracking and pulse detection to plot Marina's nervousness.
- I will wear a face substitution mask the whole time so I look like Marina.
- I will record the video of Marina and serve it up as an "On-Demand Mutual Gaze Exercise" for anyone to practice at home.
With the help of a friend I've already secured a "Mutual Gaze Session". Now I need your help to Kickstart my Kickstarter contribution.
