What is the value of a checklist?

A checklist is valuable for organization. It is a tool to prioritize, ennumerate, and visibly display tasks for completion. One can have sub-categories or tasks under each main task. Dates or other details can be added to facilitate a speedy and full completion. Additionally, it can serve as a psychological motivator, as checking off tasks feels good. Checklists rock, and they help keep a person focused, motivated, and successful.

What do you plan to improve upon while at Turing?

Howdy! Want to learn how I made those headers? (Answer: Using hashtags before a line of code, which are ordered largest to smallest with one hashtag being the largest.) Well, come right in! I made the italic word using an asterisk on either side of the word "those", and two asterisks on either side of the bolded word "headers".

The inline code for that is *hi there!* or

Empathy Questions for Gear-Up

What role does empathy play in your life and how has it helped you?

Empathy is what encouraged me to become a chaplain (minister) in the US Air Force, and once I honorably discharged, I helped start a non-profit for people recovering from life traumas. By listening to the people I served, I was able to find ways to help them-- maybe the Muslim soldier needed his special religious diet instead of pepto-bismal, maybe the PTSD client at the non-profit needed us to have a routine schedule at the start of the day for him to have predictibility and structure. I can only come up with solutions for how I want to see things when I don't listen. The people I served were able to have more autonomy in their growth path, and they were more successful in their progress. It built trust between us, and it made them feel safe and valued.

Abstract
In a few sentences, explain what the project was and the scope of your work. Imagine explaining your answer to a technical recruiter or a developer who you’d potentially be interviewing with who knows nothing about Turing.
The Pair Project, "Hang In There", asked the development team to create a multi-view application that enabled the user to interact wiht the page. The user was able to view a randomized motivational poster, and to create, display, save, and delete posters.
What is your approach to working on a team? (In your answer, provide an example from this project)
I played the role of leader and communicator/ delegator. I tend to grasp and articulate material well so that the team can narrow down the specific issue to expedite solution-finding. I like to read the entire rubric and spec, getting a feel for the project expectations as a whole.
Technical (Choose One)
What resources or strategies did you use when you were presented with a technical challenge?
