- Run the following in your terminal.
defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Bitpool Max (editable)" 80
defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Bitpool Min (editable)" 80
defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Initial Bitpool (editable)" 80
defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Initial Bitpool Min (editable)" 80
defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Negotiated Bitpool" 80
defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Negotiated Bitpool Max" 80
defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Negotiated Bitpool Min" 80
- Restart bluetooth (turn it off and on)
- Connect as usual
- No more popping! At least for me.
FYI, if you open Bluetooth Explorer, then select Utilities > Special Options…, there are settings for the bitpool min and max values (although there are just 2 of them). They seem to have a maximum value of
64
.Of course, it’s totally possible that the UI limits the value to a maximum of
64
, while the software may be able to take higher numbers. I’m not certain.Thought I’d mention it, just in case it matters. (Probably not. But, you know…“just in case”.)
