I you face any issue, feel free to leave a comment below.

Summary

  1. Sign commits or tags
  2. Key passphrase
  3. Disable signatures

Simple guide for deploying your react app to Github-Pages.
  1. Your package.json file should consist a field homepage:
  "homepage": "https://<github-username>.github.io/<project-repo>"

2.1. Install gh-pages via npm:

 npm i --save-dev gh-pages

To quickly and easily remove all unwanted comments when using Sublime text, perform a search and replace (CMD, ALT & D) and enter the following. Make sure that regex search is enabled by clicking the small icon in the bottom left that looks like an astrix.

For example, to remove all HTML comments:

(?s)<!--.*?-->

search and replace with blank

Or to remove all CSS comments:

How effectively delete a git submodule.

To remove a submodule you need to:

  • Delete the relevant section from the .gitmodules file.
  • Stage the .gitmodules changes git add .gitmodules
  • Delete the relevant section from .git/config.
  • Run git rm --cached path_to_submodule (no trailing slash).
  • Run rm -rf .git/modules/path_to_submodule (no trailing slash).
  • Commit git commit -m "Removed submodule "
  • Delete the now untracked submodule files rm -rf path_to_submodule

Git Submodules basic explanation

Git Submodules basic explanation

Why submodules?

In Git you can add a submodule to a repository. This is basically a repository embedded in your main repository. This can be very useful. A couple of usecases of submodules:

  • Separate big codebases into multiple repositories.
