Roo Code Setup and Workflow for the best $0 development

Roo Code Workflow: An Advanced LLM-Powered Development Setup

This gist outlines a highly effective and cost-optimized workflow for software development using Roo Code, leveraging a multi-model approach. This setup has been successfully used to build working applications, such as Baccarat game simulations with betting strategy analysis, and my personal portfolio site.

Core Components & Model Allocation

The power of this setup lies in strategically assigning different Large Language Models (LLMs) to specialized "modes" within Roo Code, optimizing for performance, cost, and specific task requirements.

Apple System Preferences URL Schemes

macOS 10.15 System Preference Panes

Below are a list of System Preference pane URLs and paths that can be accessed with scripting to assist users with enabling macOS security settings without having to walk them through launching System Preferences, finding panes, and scrolling to settings. Not all panes have an accessible anchor and some are OS specific.

To find the Pane ID of a specific pane, open the System Preferences app and select the desired Preference Pane. With the pane selected, open the ScriptEditor.app and run the following script to copy the current Pane ID to your clipboard and display any available anchors:

tell application "System Preferences"
set CurrentPane to the id of the current pane
	set the clipboard to CurrentPane

Using TMUX for running processes after you log off

How to Run a Process in the Background with TMUX

There are times when you need to log off your Linux Desktop, and you want a process to run in the background. TMUX manages this very well.

For this example, let's suppose you're running a long running task like running rspecs on your project and it is 5pm, and you need to go home.

JXA

This is a list of the key resources I have found useful. If you know of others, please post in a comment below, and I will add to this list.

I have tried to order this list in the order that, to me, is best for learning JXA from scratch. We all learn a bit diferently, so adjust to suit your style/needs. Please post if you have suggestions on learning JXA.
