Background

The SalesForce CodeGen models are a family of large language models trained on a large amount of natural language data and then fine-tuned on specialized datasets of code. Models of size 350M, 2B, 6B, and 16B parameters are provided in three flavors:

  • nl, the base model trained on The Pile, a large natural language dataset compiled by EleutherAI
  • multi, which is fine-tuned from the nl model on a dataset of code in multiple languages, scraped from GitHub, and
  • mono, which is fine-tuned from the multi model on Python code only.

査読の仕方

査読の仕方についての覚書。初めて査読をすることになり、どうして良いかわからないような人向けに書いてある。分野、雑誌、個人によって流儀が異なるので、全てを鵜呑みにしないで欲しい。なお、私の専門は数値計算であり、主な査読経験はPhys. Rev.系、J. Chem. Phys.、そしてJPSJなどである。

査読とは

査読システムに登場するプレイヤーは三種類、「著者」「エディタ」「査読者」である。

論文が投稿されると、まずエディタと呼ばれる研究者が論文を受け取る。エディタはその論文を読み、適切な査読者を選んで査読を依頼し、査読レポートを著者に送り、著者の反応を見て、最終的にその論文を出版するかどうか判断する。この一連の処理の責任を負うことを「ハンドルする」と呼んだりする。査読システムは著者と査読者のやりとりが主となるが、論文の生殺与奪権はエディタが握っており、実は最重要プレイヤーである。

Optunaを使ってFFmpegのエンコードパラメータを最適化してみる

概要

  • Optunaというハイパーパラメータ最適化ツールを使って、FFmpegでの動画エンコードパラメータの最適化を試してみた結果のメモ
  • 具体的には、決められた制約(後述)下で、画質(SSIM)を最大化するようなパラメータ群を自動で見つけ出すのが目的
  • 結果としては、
    • 画質的には、FFmpegが提供しているプリセットの中で二番目に重いもの(slower)より若干良い程度のパラメータ群が見つかった
    • また、Optunaが見つけたパラメータ群の方がslowerに比べて、CPU負荷が小さかった

Mastodon API の叩き方

Mastodon の API を叩くには以下の手順を踏む必要がある:

  1. OAuth2 クライアントを登録する
  2. アクセストークンを取得する
  3. アクセストークンを Authorization ヘッダに指定して API にアクセスする

OAuth2 クライアント登録
