Kasm is full of BULLSHIT!

(Originally an issue, but got deleted bc Kasm employees are pussies)

  • Kasm, you can kiss my ass, but I'm decompiling Kasm Workspaces because they have the absolute audacity to call themselves open source when Kasm Workspaces is entirely CLOSED source, apart from the containers, which they probably have to be open source to not violate GPL. See https://github.com/kasmweb-decompilation

Kasm is full of bullshit

You heard me, Kasm is full of bullshit. I am absolutely fed up with the direction Kasm is going towards. This is not good for people that FOSS is (usually) aimed for... Hobbyist developers.

Raspberry Pi 4B: Install Proxmox/Pimox, Homeassistent, VM, LXC Containers, Docker

Hello Pi

This is a writedown of how I installed my raspberry pi(s).

The base is a Proxmox, so I don't have to worry about reformat the SD card every time I wanna try out something new, as I can start VMs and LXC containers, as well as Docker containers once it's configured properly.

Note: Those files are versioned, so you can always look what changed from time to time.

Mozilla workshop about Manifest V3 and the Recommended Extensions Program.

Mozilla Workshop Summary.

Some time ago, I've been invited by Mozilla to attend a workshop on the topic of Manifest V3 and the future of the Recommended Extensions Program. Mozilla was paying for the whole trip: Cost of travel, accommodations, food, and even tickets for Mozfest 2019, which was held the two days after. So it was an obvious choice to accept this invitation.

I took the opportunity to collect some thoughts on these topics from different communities:

On October 25th 2019 the workshop took place at Mozillas London office on the day before MozFest and I just

Fix DNS resolution in WSL2
More recent resolution:
1. cd ~/../../etc (go to etc folder in WSL).
2. echo "[network]" | sudo tee wsl.conf (Create wsl.conf file and add the first line).
3. echo "generateResolvConf = false" | sudo tee -a wsl.conf (Append wsl.conf the next line).
4. wsl --terminate Debian (Terminate WSL in Windows cmd, in case is Ubuntu not Debian).
5. cd ~/../../etc (go to etc folder in WSL).
6. sudo rm -Rf resolv.conf (Delete the resolv.conf file).
7. In windows cmd, ps or terminal with the vpn connected do: Get-NetIPInterface or ipconfig /all for get the dns primary and

async/await is just the do-notation of the Promise monad

async/await is just the do-notation of the Promise monad

CertSimple just wrote a blog post arguing ES2017's async/await was the best thing to happen with JavaScript. I wholeheartedly agree.

In short, one of the (few?) good things about JavaScript used to be how well it handled asynchronous requests. This was mostly thanks to its Scheme-inherited implementation of functions and closures. That, though, was also one of its worst faults, because it led to the "callback hell", an seemingly unavoidable pattern that made highly asynchronous JS code almost unreadable. Many solutions attempted to solve that, but most failed. Promises almost did it, but failed too. Finally, async/await is here and, combined with Promises, it solves the problem for good. On this post, I'll explain why that is the case and trace a link between promises, async/await, the do-notation and monads.

First, let's illustrate the 3 styles by implementing

What I Wish I'd Known About Equity Before Joining A Unicorn

Disclaimer: This piece is written anonymously. The names of a few particular companies are mentioned, but as common examples only.

This is a short write-up on things that I wish I'd known and considered before joining a private company (aka startup, aka unicorn in some cases). I'm not trying to make the case that you should never join a private company, but the power imbalance between founder and employee is extreme, and that potential candidates would
