Week 5

Reflect on the module:

  • What have you accomplished this module (do you know what you’re looking for?) What have you learned? Do you need to change anything about your approach? Where are you stuck (have you not been able to follow through on outreach? Is your resume not finished?)

I have accomplished alot this mod, I actually got a phone interview the other day. I've learned your job search can be smoother when you know what your looking for. I have been able to keep in touch with a couple folks I reached out to. My resume is better but I would not say complete because there is always something to update.

Getting unstuck with new strategies:

Mod 3 Pre Work

What is a "framework?" And how does it differ from a "library?"

A libraray is a collection of class definitions. Key reason is for code reuse that has been already written by other developers. In a framework all the control flow is already there but there is a lot of white spots that shuld be filled out by our own code. Defines the skeleton where the application defines the its own features to fill out the skeleton.

Why should we consider using a framework over vanilla JS like you have been doing in mods 1 and 2?

We should consider using a framework because of State-based UI rendering, in particular “live” data that results in small changes rather than an entirely new UI.

Project Reflection (What's that Smell?)

Abstract

  1. In a few sentences, explain what the project was and the scope of your work. Imagine explaining your answer to a technical recruiter or a developer who you’d potentially be interviewing with who knows nothing about Turing.

The overall scope of the project was to create a web application for a recipe tracking/ meal planning application that allows users to view their favorite recipes. A user would be able to view a list of recipes, favorite their own recipes, and choose recipes to cook, and make a shooping list based on those recipes.
