Recently, this article on "The JavaScript Block Statement" came out, and it received some good discussion in a reddit thread. But the general reaction seems to be against this approach. That saddens me.

Some things that are "better" with this BetterPromise implementation:

• BetterPromise # then(..) accepts a BetterPromise (or Promise) instance passed directly, instead of requiring a function to return it, so that the promise is linked into the chain.

So it happened that I once wanted to fix a bug (#832) on the shelljs repository.

I forked the repository, cloned it and created a new branch called ln-directory-dest. I fixed the bug, created a pull request, and implemented initial review feedback.
