two Perlin noise generators in javascript. The simplex version is about 10% faster (in Chrome at least, haven't tried other browsers)
// Ported from Stefan Gustavson's java implementation
// http://staffwww.itn.liu.se/~stegu/simplexnoise/simplexnoise.pdf
// Read Stefan's excellent paper for details on how this code works.

How to move to a fork after cloning
So you've cloned somebody's repo from github, but now you want to fork it and contribute back. Never fear!
Technically, when you fork "origin" should be your fork and "upstream" should be the project you forked; however, if you're willing to break this convention then it's easy.
* Off the top of my head *
1. Fork their repo on Github
2. In your local, add a new remote to your fork; then fetch it, and push your changes up to it
git remote add my-fork git@github...my-fork.git

Firebase: Assigning players in a multiplayer game. This snippet assigns you a spot in a game if the game isn't full yet.
function go() {
var userId = prompt('Username?', 'Guest');
// Consider adding '/<unique id>' if you have multiple games.
var gameRef = new Firebase(GAME_LOCATION);
assignPlayerNumberAndPlayGame(userId, gameRef);
};
// The maximum number of players. If there are already
// NUM_PLAYERS assigned, users won't be able to join the game.
var NUM_PLAYERS = 4;

Old school abstract class.
Classes that implements it, and their sub-classes, will be able to declare abstract methods (methods that without body).
There will be a check in compile-time such that no public constructor is allowed without all abstract methods implemented.
