Using <details> in GitHub

Suppose you're opening an issue and there's a lot noisey logs that may be useful.

Rather than wrecking readability, wrap it in a <details> tag!

Install node & npm on Mac OS X with Homebrew

DEPRECATED as of macOS 10.13 (High Sierra). See the new GUIDE to install nvm and yarn for macOS (updated July 2019)

Fixing npm On Mac OS X for Homebrew Users

Installing node through Homebrew can cause problems with npm for globally installed packages. To fix it quickly, use the solution below. An explanation is also included at the end of this document.

Solution

This solution fixes the error caused by trying to run npm update npm -g. Once you're finished, you also won't need to use sudo to install npm modules globally.

// Demo: converting a thenable to a Promise
const fulfilledThenable = {
then(reaction) {
reaction('hello');
}
};
const promise = Promise.resolve(fulfilledThenable);
console.log(promise instanceof Promise); // true
promise.then(x => console.log(x)); // hello
# Put this in your .zshrc or .bashrc file
# Install `tree` first — brew install tree
function t() {
# Defaults to 3 levels deep, do more with `t 5` or `t 1`
# pass additional args after
tree -I '.git|node_modules|bower_components|.DS_Store' --dirsfirst --filelimit 15 -L ${1:-3} -aC $2
}
