Twitter abuses all media file uploads, each type in its own way. If we want to upload a good looking animation loop from some low-color, high-detail generative art, we have to game their system's mechanisms.

Simple file/stream encryption using OpenSSL

Create and store a 512-byte random encryption key named secret:

$ mkkey secret

Encrypt the contents of file with the secret key and write it to file.enc:

$ encrypt secret < file > file.enc
