Error Lookup Tool Friendly Output
@echo off
:: Note: Lines beginning with "REM" or :: are comments
:: Script by: https://github.com/thiojoe
:: Purpose: Creates a much more user friendly output for the Microsoft Error Lookup Tool (err.exe). It parses the original output and modifies the text.
:: Usage: Just call the batch file with command prompt along with the error code the same as you would with err.exe
:: Example: error.bat 50
:: Recommended to rename this script to something shorter like 'error.bat'. Must be next to the lookup tool exe file.

The future of the Starlight mod

In 1.21?

Moonrise contains Starlight as well as a lot of server-side optimisations.

Final change of plans (March 8, 2024)

I don't see that many people are using Starlight on modern versions anymore. As such, I don't see any reason to continue to maintain the mod versions, given that they do have real mod conflict issues with other mods. Starlight is also not neccessary to use on 1.20.x anyways.

Migrating YouTube subscriptions from one account to another

Migrating YouTube subscriptions from one account to another

It's a pain in the butt! there's no google-provided way to do it and the extensions that were written to do it are all terrible or non-functional. Luckily, youtube runs on "computers" and "computers" can be "hackarino'd" with just a bit of encouragement. Prereqs are a) ability to follow instructions b) maybe some familiarity with bash. I'm writing this from my mac, it'll be the sameish on linux and WSL.

This is for non-"brand" accounts, cause i'm not a brand. I'm a small business man, not a small business, man. I'm not a man either but whatever.

1. Download your subscriptions with Takeout

This at least is easy.

  1. open youtube.com > profile icon > your data in youtube, should take you to myaccount.

Installing Brave Browser on Void Linux

For anyone curious in the future:

Yes, you can relatively easily install brave browser on void linux, if that is somehow a non-negotiable for you fear not. There are three methods that I am aware of:

  1. Add this template file to your fork of void-packages locally and build the ./xbps-src package like any other.

  2. Use flatpak, which I need not explain since instructions are on the flathub listing itself. (Note: will be isolated from the system which can be a bit of a pain, especially using things like keepassxc)

A brief summary of why I am not currently supporting Forge

So, as I update mods and switch more of them over to Fabric, I'm sure I'll frequently get asked "Will you port to Forge" or "Why not Forge," so I figured I'd make a document explaining why and link to it instead of typing up the explanation every time.

The Short Version

Maintaining mods for two different mod loaders is time consuming, and when choosing between them, Fabric is the clear choice to me. If I ever get to the point where my mods are all updated, I will consider porting mods to Forge on a case-by-case basis, but it will not be a priority. The lead developer of Forge, LexManos, has essentially told me he will not support features that allow me to update at least one of my mods past 1.12.2, and on top of that, he did so very rudely while treating me like a complete idiot for trying to make it possible to continue using Forge for that mod. I am not the only person he has treated in this manner, and I do not support this kind of toxic behavior.

But how does Fabric compare to Forge?

I've conside

Recommended OptiFine alternatives on Fabric

The list is moving out!

If you share this list, please use this link instead: https://lambdaurora.dev/optifine_alternatives

It may still be only a redirection link, but it will have a better web display of the list soon. And the list being on GitHub/GitHub pages improves load times.

The gist version of this list will stop being updated.

# Welcome to my fancy Shift JIS explanation and simple implementation in Python.

# If you haven't heard of Shift JIS, it's a single or double-byte encoding for
# the JIS X 0201 and JIS X 0208 character sets, a bit like UTF-8 is for Unicode.
#
# The key feature of Shift JIS is being able to use both character sets at once,
# retaining legacy half-width ASCII and Katakana characters from JIS X 0201.

Windows XP All Editions Universal Product Keys Collection.

Windows XP Logo

Although Microsoft does not support Windows XP updates any more, I'm sure there are still many users using it due to their personal habits or job demands. Therefore, XP's product keys may still be necessary. Here lies the most comprehensive list of Windows XP product keys.

The following CD keys are official and original from Microsoft, primarily used for Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2/3 VOL/VLK system images, which are among the easiest to find on the Internet.
