Basic Tetris HTML and JavaScript Game

This is a basic implementation of the game Tetris, but it's missing a few things intentionally and they're left as further exploration for the reader.

Config for running Unbound as a caching DNS forwarder (performance settings optimized for Raspberry Pi 2).

# Time to live maximum for RRsets and messages in the cache. If the maximum
# kicks in, responses to clients still get decrementing TTLs based on the
# original (larger) values. When the internal TTL expires, the cache item
# has expired. Can be set lower to force the resolver to query for data
# often, and not trust (very large) TTL values.

Basic Snake HTML and JavaScript Game

Basic Snake HTML and JavaScript Game

Snake is a fun game to make as it doesn't require a lot of code (less than 100 lines with all comments removed). This is a basic implementation of the snake game, but it's missing a few things intentionally and they're left as further exploration for the reader.

Further Exploration

  • Score
  • When the snake eats an apple, the score should increase by one. Use context.fillText() to display the score to the screen

Vagrant Cheat Sheet

Typing vagrant from the command line will display a list of all available commands.

Be sure that you are in the same directory as the Vagrantfile when running these commands!

Creating a VM

  • vagrant init -- Initialize Vagrant with a Vagrantfile and ./.vagrant directory, using no specified base image. Before you can do vagrant up, you'll need to specify a base image in the Vagrantfile.
  • vagrant init <boxpath> -- Initialize Vagrant with a specific box. To find a box, go to the public Vagrant box catalog. When you find one you like, just replace it's name with boxpath. For example, vagrant init ubuntu/trusty64.

Starting a VM

  • vagrant up -- starts vagrant environment (also provisions only on the FIRST vagrant up)

Big list of http static server one-liners

Each of these commands will run an ad hoc http static server in your current (or specified) directory, available at http://localhost:8000. Use this power wisely.
