I've started responding to recruiters with this list of requirements

Company Requirements

I'm definitely not looking for work. However to provide some helpful guidance for hiring like-minded engineers, I would only consider working for a company if it met these requirements:

  1. Fewer than 250 employees.
  2. Concrete, measurable plan to increase the number of women and minorities in engineering roles.
  3. Commitment to using and contributing to open source.
  4. Collaborative, friendly atmosphere where pair programming is encouraged.
  5. Meaningful work with clear linkage between work and company goals.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to ethical business practices, e.g. B corp certification.

Parent vs. Owner Context

If you've reached this page, it's probably because your "parent-based and owner-based contexts differ".

As we've been iterating on React's "context" feature, we've discovered that the parent-based relationship is more useful than the owner-based relationship, so we're migrating to use a parent-based hierarchy.

In short, the owner of a component is whomever creates the component, while the parent of a component is whomever would be the containing ancestor in the DOM hierarchy. To learn more about the owner relationship, see the docs here: http://facebook.github.io/react/docs/multiple-components.html

In many cases, the owner and the parent are the same node, in which case, no further action is necessary.

Last year, when visiting my family back home in Holland, I also stopped by my grand-parents. My grand-father, now 93 years old, had always been a very active man. However, during the presceding couple of months, he'd gone almost completely blind and now spent his days sitting in a chair. Trying to think of something for him to do, I suggested he try out audio books. After finally convincing him -- he said audio books were for sad old people -- that listening to a well performed recording is actually a wonderful experience, I realized the problem of this idea.

####The problem with audio devices and the newly blind. After my first impulse to jump up and go buy him an
