Understanding closures, callbacks and promises in JavaScript

#Understanding closures, callbacks and promises

For a code newbie like myself, callbacks, closures and promises are scary JavaScript concepts.

10 months into my full-time dev career, and I would struggle to explain these words to a peer.

So I decided it was time to face my fears, and try to get my head around each concept.

Here are the notes from my initial reading. I'll continue to refine them as my understanding improves.

// note : if you're on github gist and want to copy paste this code, you can click on the "Raw" button
// and then do Ctrl A, Ctrl C, Ctrl V
// (code below by Kurt Spencer, slightly modified code to run as Processing tab)
// maybe you should rather use this new (improved) version of the noise instead : https://github.com/KdotJPG/OpenSimplex2

// triple the value of every item in a given array
const triple = (arr) => arr.map((currentItem) => currentItem * 3)
// sum all the elements in a given array
const sum = (arr) => arr.reduce((prev, current) => prev + current, 0)

How to set up DNS records on gandi.net to use a custom domain on Github Pages

You would think it would be easy to find this information, but none of the Github or Gandi documentation is clear so I have recorded the required steps here.

Create the following A records:

@ 1800 IN A 185.199.109.153
